Hannah Arendt,The Origins of Totalitarianism,New York,The World Publishing Company,1962.阿伦特的著作近年来在大陆得到陆续介绍,形成了小小的阿伦特热,其主要著作基本上都有了中译本。由于阿伦特在西方政治思想史上的特殊重要地位,更由于阿伦特思想和中国问题的特殊相关性,这无疑是一件值得庆祝的事情。但翻开这些新近出版的译著,理解正确、文字顺畅的译本寥寥无几。不少翻译不仅晦涩难懂,而且存在数量不少的硬伤,严重地影响了读者对作者思想的理解。
Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism, New York, The World Publishing Company, 1962. Arendt’s writings in mainland China in recent years have been introduced one after another to form a small Arendt heat, the main works are basically in the Translation. Due to the special and important position of Arendt in the history of western political thought and because of the special relativity between Arendt’s thought and China’s question, it is undoubtedly a matter worth celebrating. However, few translations of these newly published translations are understood correctly and the texts are smooth. Many translators are not only obscure but also have a great number of flaws, which seriously affect readers’ understanding of the author’s thoughts.
