This presentation briefly introduces the UK’s extreme state design and the classification of concrete structures and related recommendations of the United States, China, and CEB-FIP. When the structure reaches a certain limit state, it is unsafe or unusable. The purpose of the ultimate state design is to ensure that any part of the structure and structure has a probability of acceptance so that it does not reach any limit state. The limit states can be divided into: (1) Destructive limit states. That is, when the structure reaches this state, it will become unsafe (including falling, damage, instability, fatigue, etc.).
