10岁那年,家里突发火灾,他的脸被烧伤,在医院抢救了半个月,命是保住了,眼睛却因此失明。理想没有了,生命黯淡了,他眼前的一切都是恐怖的黑暗。出院后,他沮丧极了,整日以泪洗面。母亲送他去盲人学校,他死活都不愿去。他把自己关在屋子里,哪儿都不去,黑暗的世界让他恐慌、烦躁。当母亲走进屋子,和他说话的时候,他就冲母亲吼,吼累了,就骂自己是个废物,还用自残来逼迫母亲闭嘴。
