清华大学为承接1997年全国大学生运动会及改善学校教学条件,决定修建塑胶跑道田径场。于1995年底委托北京市市政专业设计院进行设计。1996年2月完成设计,1996年10月建成并投入使用。
In order to undertake the 1997 National University Games and to improve school teaching conditions, Tsinghua University decided to build a plastic runway track and field. At the end of 1995, the project was commissioned by the Beijing Municipal College of Design. The design was completed in February 1996 and completed and put into use in October 1996.
