北京市右安门外大街玉林小区,倨卧着一座青灰色的城堡式建筑——北京辽金城垣博物馆。博物馆在北京的建立,是源于一件有关金代的重大文物考古发现。1990年10月,北京市园林局在右安门外玉林小区盖宿舍时,偶然发现了金中都南城墙水关遗址。遗址的发现,为人们了解金中都城市建设提供了宝贵的实证,1995年,北京市政府在水关遗址上建立“辽金城垣博物馆”。这座建筑整体呈不规则多边形,青灰色的外墙,加上建筑上方装饰的吉祥瑞兽,远远望去仿佛金中都水关再现眼前。在博物馆的地下一层,可以看到这座承载着诸多历史信息、又守护着太多历史秘密的水关遗址,地上一层则是辽金两代的历史回顾和藏品陈列。脚步轻移之间,一个波澜壮阔的时代缓缓浮现眼前。

On the basement level of the museum, you can see this water conservancy site bearing many historical information and guarding too many historical secrets. On the ground floor is the historical review and collection of the Liao and Jin dynasties. Between the pace of light shift, a magnificent era slowly emerge.
