民办中华戏剧学院1985年初在京成立。在著名戏剧家吴雪、吴祖光、欧阳山尊、刘厚生、夏淳及教授祝肇年、何之安、严正、冉杰、汪岁寒等三十多位院委支持下,自筹资金,义务办学。三年多来,没拿国家一分钱,没赚学生一分钱,自负亏损,为国家培训了近三百名学员,取得了可喜的成效。学院成立之初,即为全国专业戏剧院、团代培专业演员,保送单位认为经培训的演员业务水平提高很大,表示将继续派员参加学习。所办的话剧演员培训班,现已结业八期,最近该院招待新闻界演出的多场次幽默喜剧《寻找男子汉》就是第八期学员的结业演出。同时,该院与中国评剧院合办的评剧演员培训班今年八月底已结业演出了一台评剧折子戏,均获好评。这些班经一年两学期的短期培训,共授课240课时(80
