1992年6月8日至10日,在湖北省宜昌市召开了“卫星传输技术在滑坡监测中的应用”研究成果鉴定会。鉴定委员会由国家地震局、湖北省科委、中国岩石力学与工程学会、水利部水管司、中科院岩土力学所、中国地质大学、黄委设计院、地矿部遥感中心、长江水利委员会等单位的十一位专家组成。
