棚户区改造是我国政府为改造城镇危旧住房、改善困难家庭住房条件而推出的一项民心工程。国有企业的发展,留下了许多对社会的贡献,也存在着一些社会问题,如部分国有企业的效益不好,部分职工居住条件差。当前,国家关注民生工程,开展城镇棚户区和城乡危房改造及配套基础设施建设,这是事关千百万住房困难家庭生活改善,是惠民生、稳增长相互促进的重大举措,国有企业也在其中。因此,国有企业应该抓住机遇进行棚户区改造,不仅能解决部分低收入职工住房的困难问题,而且更加重要的是能盘活存量土地,提升土地价值。所以,国有企业进行棚户区改造意义重大。
