As a love song and dance drama, “If Love,” directed by Peter Chan, has filled a gap in Chinese-language musicals and musicals in recent years. The use of music has left a deep impression on the audience. It is proposed to start with the relationship between music and film to analyze the narrative function of music in this film, combined with the corresponding theory of semiology and narratology to dig a little depth of theory and discussion. At the same time, metaphors such as “Cross Street” appear repeatedly in the film and are also an important song in the movie. I think this is also an interesting entry point because the “cross” itself means crossing, overlapping, Not only hinted at in the movie “drama ” narrative mode, also implies the intricacies of love entangled. The charm of cinema art is largely due to its light and sound, which is undoubtedly part of the sound. It not only creates an atmosphere, but also enables a narrative play and symbolic expression.
