普通低合金09Mn2钢是引进苏修不成系列的单一钢号,主要是用于制造机车车辆的板材和型材,是标准中不推荐采用的钢号,与我国己成系列的普通低合金12Mr钢同属一个强度级别。根据鞍钢十多年的生产实践,09Mn2钢的冶炼时间一般较12Mn钢长5～10％,低碳锰铁合金的消耗量大,钢中锰成份不易控制(一般出格6％左右成为废次品),因而经济损失较大,组织生产困难。
