In recent years, many newspapers and magazines have abstracted articles, based on the rank awarded by the Central Military Commission in September 1945 for Peng Zhen and Chen Yun, who went to concede Shenyang and the Soviet Union in coordination with each other. They determined that “the six comrades were the earliest recipients of our army Rank of people ”. This is not true. The earliest people who got the rank of our army should be some staff members of our army stationed in the “Eighth Route Army Office” in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War. For example, Wu Xiuquan, director of the Eighth Route Army in Lanzhou, was awarded the rank of colonel (see Wu Xiuquan, “My Course”), and Luo Ziming, adjutant of the New Fourth Army’s stationed in Pingjiang, was awarded the rank of major.
