古建筑保护由建筑本身的保护和整体环境的保护两个方面组成。在当下,我国的古建筑保护技术已经比较成熟,古建筑档案的建立是古代建筑保护的需要,是维护古建筑历史真实文化渊源的一项重要工作。古建筑保护档案是在古建筑日常管理、维护、维修、利用过程中产生的,具有保存价值,并且集中保管起来的保护古建筑的专业资料。它的表现形式有文字资料、表格、图片、照片、拓片、摹本、胶片、音频、视频等。一座保存完好的古建筑,既是研究某一阶段的历史文化的重要实物资料,又是一个地区的社会、文化发展的历史见证,更是一个城市发展过程的记忆。
