本文借助后殖民理论家霍米·巴巴的“第三空间”和“杂糅”理论分析了《中国佬》中杂糅的中西神话,意在说明汤亭亭笔下的华裔美国人建构的双重文化身份。这种“第三空间”的文化身份是东西文化协商融合的结果,也是华裔美国人不断追求的身份状态。
This article analyzes the Chinese and Western myths mixed with Chinese people by Homi Baba ’s “The Third Space” and “Hybrid ” theory of the postcolonial theorist, in order to illustrate the double construction of the Chinese-Americans constructed by Maxine Hong Kingston Cultural identity. The cultural identity of this “third space” is the result of the integration of Eastern and Western cultures and the constant pursuit of status by Chinese Americans.
