作为一种公之于众的下行公文,宋代榜文文书副本的复制载体有纸张、木板、粉壁、碑石之别,与之相应的复制方式则有手工书写、雕版印刷、勒石刻碑的不同。榜文文书副本的复制载体和复制方式的统一与其传播效果有密切关系:书写的榜文优长在于大字醒目,简便易行;雕版印刷的榜文复制速度快、数量多,便于在流动人群中广泛传播;勒石刻碑的榜文威严庄重且留存时间相对久远。文书副本载体与复制方式各异的榜文成为宋代官方施政信息布达民间的一个有效途径和助推中央和地方行政事务的得力工具。
