罗小冬出生于1962年12月,现任国际盆景协会(BCI)中国地区委员会副秘书长、广州盆景协会常务副会长。他是一名政府公务员,自幼即喜欢艺术,1990年代接触盆景后,就被岭南盆景的优美造型和艺术魅力深深吸引。从1995年起,在繁忙的工作之余,他开始从事岭南盆景的栽培与创作,从中得到了极大的乐趣和艺术的熏陶。为提高自己的技艺水平,他买来大量盆景书籍,认真阅读,并经常外出走访岭南盆景界的前辈和高手,虚心向他们请教,从而提高自己。特别是求教于岭南盆景艺术大师刘仲明后,在大师的指导下,他对岭南盆景的认识
Luo Xiaodong was born in December 1962 and is currently Deputy Secretary General of China Regional Council of International Bonsai Association (BCI) and Executive Vice President of Guangzhou Bonsai Association. He is a government civil servant who loved art since he was young. After being exposed to bonsai in the 1990s, he was deeply attracted by the graceful appearance and artistic charm of the bonsai in Lingnan. Since 1995, he has been engaged in the cultivation and creation of bonsai in the south of the mountain during his busy work and has enjoyed great fun and artistic influence.
