一、引言瑞士语言学家索绪尔是最早提出语言是人类交流思想的工具这个概念的。“交流”二字潜在地道出了语言以声表意的重要特征。其中,要达到交流的目的,声音是第一位的。《高校英语专业基础阶段教学大纲》(以下简称《大纲》)中提出:“语音教学不是一门孤立的课程。在把语音语调等看作是以声表意的重要手段,认识到它们是语言的第一性的重要部分。”这既从语言学角度又从教学法角度强调了语言的声音即语音的重要性。也就是说,不管是学语言还是教语言都必须从语音开始。因为只有学好语音,才能达到以声表意的交流目的。由于高等师范院校的语音教学涉及子孙后代的英语质
