On February 25, LSI Corporation introduced the Axxia 5500 communications processor portfolio to improve the performance and power efficiency of multi-band wireless base stations and 4G / LTE wireless networks. For the first time, the LSI Axia 5500 Series combines 16 ARM cores with LSI professional network accelerators to optimize performance and power consumption.
