用两个不同的高粱品种进行杂交,所得的第一代叫杂交高粱,又叫杂种高粱。这种高粱具有强大的杂种优势,利用在生产上,则会大幅度增产。杂种优势仅表现在第一代,所以杂种高粱在生产上只能用它第一代。第二代产生分离现象,产量显著下降。因此,杂茭高粱第二代是不能在生产上利用的。
