From August 13 to 19, the Academic Committee of Architectural History of the Chinese Architectural Society held a symposium on the Yuanmingyuan Garden in Beijing. Attending the meeting were experts in architecture, gardens, cultural relics, planning, history, geography, fine arts, and literature, totaling more than 70 people. Responsible comrades from the State Construction Commission, the State Administration of Construction and Industry, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the National CPPCC Cultural Group, and the Chinese Architectural Society attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Yuanmingyuan is a general term for the three parks of Yuanming, Changchun, and Wanchun.
