游记是研究异国形象的传统文本,十年之久的异国生活和行旅体验,使得吕碧城游记呈现出众多当时国人眼中的西方形象。作为个性鲜明的行旅体验者,吕碧城游记中的异国情调强调的是在空间断裂和文化位移中人与世界的各种关系,是性格强烈的个体深刻的“异己”体验,是对于充满“差异性”的异国形象的观看和体验。在思考他者的同时,吕碧城完成了自我身份的认同,她将自我形象建构为富有、独立、自由、获得西方社会广泛认同的东方公主形象。吕碧城以自我言说他者,她所塑造的西方形象处处是东方中国的镜像。
