饮酒妇女所生婴儿常有某些特殊缺损,称胎儿乙醇综合征(FAS)且死产发生率亦高,围产儿死亡率比不饮酒妇女高10倍。在对人和动物实验的研究中,乙醇在胎生期何时影响胎儿使其发育改变尚未有详细说明。FAS的主要表现为宫内和产后生长迟缓、头颅变小、中枢神经系统功能异常及颅面部形态异常。典型的面部特征为额部狭窄、面颊扁平、睑裂狭小、鼻短、上唇长唇红,缘扁薄和人中表浅或消失。作者对小鼠在妊娠7天时用2个小剂量乙醇(25%乙醇0.015ml/g体重)间隔4小时注入腹腔内。对照组用不含乙醇的液体作同样注射。应用极精密的气体色谱法检测血液内乙醇浓度,最高值(193~215mg/dl)出现在每次注射后20~25分
