In order to investigate the relationship between human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and cervical cancer, we studied the mouse model of cervical cancer induced by UV-inactivated HCMV. The UV-inactivated HCMV solution was inoculated into the cervix of mice, 3 times / week × 8 weeks, and HEL culture medium control group was established. After 5 months, the rate of cervical precancerous lesions in HCMV group was 27.7% (23/83) and the incidence of cervical cancer was 20.5% (17/83). In control group, only 1 case had cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN, I) , The incidence of cancer was 0 (0/31). This result suggests that: UV-inactivated HCMV has the ability to transform cervical epithelial cells in vivo to induce cervical carcinogenesis and therefore the possible mechanism of HCMV carcinogenesis is also discussed.
