The State Key Laboratory of Arid Agroecology is a laboratory doing research and teaching on aridagricultural ecology. In 1995, the Laboratory was assessed by the Government and opened up to thescholars and scientists. Now, Prof. Chen Jiakuan of Fudan University is the director of the Laborato-ry. The academic committee of the Laboratory consists of 15 professors in the fields of ecology and a-gricultural science.
