计算机通信技术已经进入以网络为中心的计算时期,信息网络化、信息系统的综合集成自然离不开系统所处的网络计算环境。当前,网络不仅是信息传输的基础设施,而且是信息处理和服务共享的基础设施,网络可以为人们提供强大的计算平台,网络已经化身为计算机。目前,世界上最强大的计算机是互联网。网络要成为计算平台,需要在网络原基础设施之上构造或装备一个支持一体化网络计算的软件平台。其作用是管理网络上的各类软硬件资源,并实现网络资源的共享与集成,为信息系统等网络应用提供高效可信的开发、部署和运行环境。正如在裸机上需要配备操作系统等基础软件才能有效开发应用软件一样,这种网络计算平台软件能有效支持快速构建网络应用,因而可视为网络上的操作系统。
Computer communication technology has entered the network-centric computing period, the information network, the integrated information system can not do without the system in which the network computing environment. At present, the network is not only the infrastructure of information transmission, but also the infrastructure for information processing and service sharing. The network can provide people with a powerful computing platform and the network has become a computer. At present, the most powerful computer in the world is the Internet. To be a computing platform, a network needs to be constructed or equipped with a software platform that supports integrated network computing over the original network infrastructure. Its role is to manage all types of hardware and software resources on the network, and to achieve the sharing and integration of network resources for information systems and other network applications to provide efficient and credible development, deployment and operational environment. Just as the bare metal machine needs to be equipped with basic software such as operating system to effectively develop application software, this network computing platform software can effectively support the rapid construction of network applications and thus can be regarded as the operating system on the network.
