由江苏省水利勘测设计院设计的镇江港整治引航道工程,经省建委批准于1986年开工,1989年6月全部完成并通过验收,安全运行至今.该工程由引航道、港外拦沙堤和焦南坝组成.引航道长4000米,底宽120米,为一级航道.港外拦沙堤长7527米,堤顶高程6米,顶宽5米,堤坡1:4,作用是阻水拦沙.焦南坝长542米,堤顶高程6米,最大坝高13.5米,作用是封堵焦南航道,减少进港水量和淤积.施工中引航道采用水力冲挖和挖泥船疏浚相结合的施工组合;焦南坝选用电厂废煤焦碴为坝体腹部填料,用土工布在斜坡部位作粗细粒径材
