本文提出在地下结构中固有的主要的生命安全问题；确定在地下设施中与生命安全有关的一般设计模式；同时，讨论在已经使用的两个地下设施设计中是如何致力于生命安全问题的。
This paper proposes the major life safety issues inherent in underground structures; the identification of general design patterns related to life safety in underground facilities; and the discussion of how to address life safety issues in the two underground facility designs already in use.
