时间服务是地震观测的基础之一,测定地震的基本参数(发震时间0,震中纬度φ、径度λ,震源深度h)要依靠它,某些予报地震的方法也得依靠它。由于“速度”是物质的一项基本“属性”,又较其它参数容易获得,也就成了研究地震、地球物理科学的一个重要方面。在地震研究中,应用地震走时确立的地壳及地球内部结构模型主要指的就是速度模型;人们运用速度这一属性不仅进行各种理论推演,而且早已纳入生产实践,例如勘探,定位等。随着科学技术的不断发展,各项工作对时间服务的要求也愈来愈高。涉及到速度的科研生产任务,就某种意义上讲,能不能取得应有进展,时间服务将起决定作用。
The time service is one of the foundations of the seismic observation. It depends on it to measure the basic parameters of the earthquake (onset time 0, epicentral latitude φ, radius λ, focal depth h) and some methods of reporting the earthquake depend on it. Since “speed” is a basic “property” of matter and more readily available than other parameters, it becomes an important aspect of the study of earthquakes and geophysics. In the study of earthquakes, the model of the crust and the Earth’s interior which is established by the earthquake travel time mainly refers to the velocity model. People use the property of velocity not only to make various theoretical deductions, but also to include production practice such as exploration and location. With the continuous development of science and technology, the requirements of various tasks on time services are also getting higher and higher. Involved in the speed of scientific research and production tasks, in a sense, can not make due progress, time services will play a decisive role.
