黄河口十四公里护滩工程改变了传统土石结构护滩形式，采用了钢筋混凝土插板桩。设计采用锚定式插板桩，确定冲刷坑深度为８ｍ，根据结构和稳定计算，确定每块板桩长１１２０ｍ、宽１ｍ、厚０２５ｍ，并用两侧的螺栓与凹槽将板桩连成一个整体，插板桩墙总长１５０ｍ，用拉杆和锚桩与插板桩相连以维持插板桩的稳定。此结构省资且施工快捷，运用中不抢险或少抢险，为突破传统整治工程结构作了有益探索。
