佛门重地,佛、菩萨造像不仅是僧侣信徒顶礼膜拜的对象,也是历代工艺美术和创作者智慧的结晶,体现了一个时代的文化风貌。宝光寺所珍藏的佛教造像时代上自南北朝,下至近现代。就材质而言可分为石刻、木刻、铜铸、玉雕等。现藏最早的当属南朝粱大同龙首铭文千佛造像石刻碑,距今约1500年历史。最值得一提的是:1996年宝光寺在修建素餐厅时,在地下挖出的一通唐开元二十九年(741年)施衣社华严三圣造像石刻碑,同时还出土了一件石雕菩萨头像。
