在英汉两种语言中,都存在着大量的隐喻现象。由于隐喻赋予了词汇丰富而又深刻的修辞意义,人们对英语词汇的了解和认识也已不再局限于字面涵义。隐喻思维是一种认知手段,在词汇学习中使单词或者词组取得特殊效果,从而可以区分不同词汇间的细小差别。同时隐喻的形象性,丰富了词义的发展,而且创造了大量的科技词汇,因而有利于扩大英语词汇量。
In English and Chinese, there are a lot of metaphorical phenomena. Because metaphor gives vocabulary rich and profound rhetorical meaning, people’s understanding and understanding of English vocabulary is no longer limited to literal meaning. Metaphorical thinking is a cognitive method that makes words or phrases get special effects in vocabulary learning, so that you can distinguish small differences between different words. At the same time, the image of metaphor has enriched the development of word meaning, and created a large number of scientific and technical vocabulary, which is conducive to the expansion of English vocabulary.
