The numbering plan used by both China Telecom and China Unicorn’sGSM networks has been scaled up to 10 digits, effective as of July 22,resuting in 10x increase of the national mobile networks number resources.This action will effectively solve the problem of inadequate number resourcedilemma and lay the solid foundation for China’s further mobile take--off inthe future. Despite all of the complexities and massive engineering effortsbehind the scene, the mobile users are only required to dial an additional“0” following the original 3-digit GSM service code.
