培养学生的英语交际能力是英语教学的最终目标。在交际过程中,学生除了会遇到单词、语法的障碍,还有文化的冲突引起的交际障碍。然而,在中国的英语教学中,教师通常注重讲解单词、句型和语法知识,而忽略了对于西方文化的讲解与介绍。一种语言总是依附于一种文化而存在,而学习语言,也应该在一定的文化背景下进行。本文从分析日常交际中中西文化的差异谈起,提出了在教学过程中培养学生西方文化意识的几种方法。
Developing students’ communicative competence in English is the ultimate goal of English teaching. In the process of communication, students encounter not only words, grammatical barriers, but also communicative barriers caused by cultural conflicts. However, in English teaching in China, teachers usually pay attention to the knowledge of words, sentence patterns and grammar while neglecting to explain and introduce western culture. A language always depends on a culture and exists, but learning a language, should also be carried out under a certain cultural background. Starting from the analysis of the differences between Chinese and western cultures in daily communication, this article puts forward several methods to cultivate students’ awareness of western culture in the process of teaching.
