Nickel sulphate produced at the Outokumpu Pori factory is a byproduct of copper electrorefining. The anode copper, which is a raw material for copper refining, contains about 0.5% of nickel. During electrolysis, some of the nickel accumulates in the electrolyte due to the anodic dissolution and partly enters the anode sludge, and the latter is recovered by sulfuric acid leaching. Electrolysis process part of the continuous withdrawal of electrolyte to maintain the balance of nickel. Production of nickel sulfate includes four processes: 1. Electrolytic copper 2.
