越冬菠菜,内蒙地区又称“老根菠菜”。多年来,人们在生产实践中摸清了露地老根菠菜的播种期,在我区以“白露”前后最适宜。秋冬不扣棚,第二年早春扣棚的老根菠菜,播种期与露地相同。此时播种,上冻前苗长出4～5片真叶,抗寒性强,能安全越冬。过大者第二年易抽苔,过小者不容易越冬。冬季,塑料大棚内最低温度仅比外界提高2～3℃,在-20℃以下,与露地相近。
