讀恩格斯的《反杜林論》序言,了解到这样一段事:德国小資产阶級思想家杜林是那样高傲无知,他在学术論文中不仅极力自我吹噓,而且粗暴武断,任意辱駡別人。从萊布尼茨、康德、黑格尔、圣西門、傅立叶、欧文直到伟大的革命导师馬克思,无不在他的谩駡之列。可是,思格斯的《反杜林論》一書问世不久,曾驕横一时的杜林,牛皮彻底破产,他竟因此被柏林大学取消了教学的权利。恩格斯如何对待此事呢?恩格斯一方面申明:“我对他(指杜林——引者注)必須更知遵守文字论战所应遵守的一切規則”;一方面严肃地指責了柏林大学的作法粗暴,“不公正”。(見《反杜林論》,人民出版社一九五六年版,第6页)
Reading Engels’s preface to the Anti-Duhring Theory, I learned that German petty bourgeois ideologist Durin was so proud and ignorant that he not only bragged about himself but also abusively and arbitrarily abused others in academic papers. From Leibniz, Kant, Hegel, Saint Simon, Fourier, Owen, to Marx, the great revolutionary mentor, all in his abuses. However, soon after the publication of Sir Alex’s Anti-Duhring, the arrogant Turin, whose cowardice went bankrupt completely, was thus denied the right to teaching by the University of Berlin. How does Engels treat this? Engels affirmed on the one hand: “I have to know more about all the rules that must be observed in observing literal polemics.” On the one hand, he seriously blames the practice of the University of Berlin Rough, “unjust.” (See Anti-Duhring, People’s Publishing House, 1956, p. 6)
