“Doing a Poet” is a collection of poems by Maxine Kingston, which portrays Maxine Ting’s creative mentality and thought trajectory at a special stage. It reflects the true process of Maxine Ting’s influence on Buddhism and the practice of poetry through the meditative way of Zen . His poetry creation is obviously influenced by the thought of Zen, which reflects the feature of Zen into poetry and expounds the Zen interest and Zen. The acceptance of Buddhism by Maxine Hong Kingston was not only the result of the ethos of worshiping Buddhism in American society after World War II, but also the reflection of writers influenced by the literature of the Beatitudes. Tang Tingting combines the idea of Zen and pacifism to realize her unique Zen practice. Her understanding of the mixed Chinese religious beliefs also showed her unique perspective.
