我国有着悠久的编修地方志的优良传统。现存的八千余种地方志,记载周详,内容丰富,为世界各国所罕见。党的十一届三中全会以来,由于中央领导同志的倡导,我国地方志工作进入了一个新的时期。地方志是全面记载一个地方、一个区域、一个单位概貌的综合性著述,被称为“博物之书”,“一方之全史”,或“地方百科全书”,它的内容是十分广泛的,从自然到社会,从历史到现实,从物质文明到精神文明,从经济基础到上层建筑的各个领域,包罗万象,无所不载。由于编修志对于总结历史经验,介绍风土人情,传播文化技术,治理地方行政,有着重要的意义。因此,历来为人们所重视,所谓“治天下以史为鉴,治郡国者以志为鉴,”说的就是这个道理。今天,我们进行改革,开创社会主义现代化建设,就要全面掌握各省的省情、市情、地情、县情以及各方面的情况,地方志在两个文明建设中,正可发挥这一重要作用。郑州市电信局的党政领导,十分重视和支持修志工作,抽调干部,组成由专职人员与群众相结合的修
