语言学习与文化学习是不可分离的整体。语言学习者要掌握好第二语言,必须具备充足的文化背景知识。而作为为英语学习者提供英语文化信息主要来源的英语词典,自然也应该对如何在英语学习词典中科学的设置相关文化信息内容这个问题给予相当的关注。本文从语言、文化和词典的关系及学习者语言习得需求角度阐述双语词典设置文化信息的必要性及其可能性,在此基础上通过大量实例说明英汉词典中设置文化信息的多种途径,以便双语词典的编纂者传递文化信息。
Language learning and cultural learning are inseparable whole. To master the second language, language learners must have sufficient knowledge of the cultural background. As English dictionaries that provide the main source of English cultural information to English learners, it is of course necessary to pay considerable attention to how to set the relevant cultural information contents scientifically in the English learning dictionaries. This paper elaborates the necessity and possibility of setting up cultural information in bilingual lexicon from the perspective of language, culture and the relationship between lexicons and learners’language acquisition needs. Based on this, it illustrates many ways to set up cultural information in English-Chinese dictionaries through a large number of examples, So that bi-lingual compilers deliver cultural messages.
