中国北京,2003年10月13日-IBM与中国国家教育部今天在北京举办新闻发布会,宣布双方将采用网格技术以促进全国高校在教育、科研及更广泛项目上的全面合作,并在北京大学进行了网格项目演示。这是迄今为止世界上规模最大的网格计算工程之一。它将从不同的计算系统中获取目前尚未得以充分利用的应用程序、数据及计算资源,并根据需要随时随地提供给广大用户使用,从而形成统一的虚拟系统。
Beijing, China, October 13, 2003 - IBM and the Ministry of Education of China held a press conference in Beijing today to announce the adoption of grid technology by both sides to promote the all-round cooperation among universities, colleges and universities in education, research and wider projects in China. Peking University conducted a grid project demonstration. This is by far one of the largest grid computing projects in the world. It will get from different computing systems not yet fully utilized applications, data and computing resources, and provided to the vast number of users anytime, anywhere, as needed to form a unified virtual system.
