Comrade Zhang Qixian, a distinguished Chinese Communist Party member, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a highly respected mechanical scientist and educator in our country, and a professor at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, died at Beijing People’s Hospital on May 25, 2002 at 15:35, at the age of 76 . The death of Academician Zhang Qixian is not only a huge loss in the field of institutional science and robotics in our country, but also the scientific and technological community in China.
