隐喻作为一种语言现象广泛存在于中英语言当中。本文通过分类分析中英报刊中经济、政治、体育等领域新闻报道的大量例证,阐释了英汉报刊中隐喻的功能以及隐喻对于丰富报刊语言的重要意义。
Metaphor as a linguistic phenomenon is widespread in Chinese and English. This paper illustrates the function of metaphors in English and Chinese newspapers and periodicals and the significance of metaphor for enriching the language of newspapers and periodicals through the classification and analysis of a large number of examples of press coverage in the fields of economy, politics and sports in both China and Britain.
