CAMAC is an acronym in English “computer-aided measurement and control”, is an abbreviation of the standard specification. Developed and published by the European Commission for Nuclear Electronics Standards in 1969. It provides a common standard interface system for information exchange between computers and various digital instruments, meters and devices, which provides a practical information channel for data acquisition, analysis, processing and control and is therefore rapidly popularized. It is widely used in various fields such as nuclear energy, industrial process control, medical and healthcare services, transportation management, data communications, public utilities, laboratory automation, astronomy and geology in more than 20 countries in Europe, the United States and Japan. There are 60 companies that make their standard parts. Not long ago, a standard subroutine on CAMAC programming languages and higher-level languages such as BASIC, FORTRAN was published. The entire system from the hardware serialization, standardization, combination design has gradually entered the software phase of the general. This article gives a more detailed overview of what happened to this specification before 1973. The translation slightly abridged.
