In June and July 1992, an international symposium entitled “Guangdong’s Export-oriented Economic Development” was jointly held in Guangzhou by Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University and Guangdong Branch of China International Cultural and Cultural Exchange Center. This seminar is aimed at deepening the study of the spirit of Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s southern tour speech by the people across the country under the situation in which the whole country upholds the party’s basic line and further deepens the reform and opening up. The meeting was held at an important moment for 20 years of catching up with the “four little dragons in Asia” and making a new strategic plan.
