学术原则即学术规范,它是保证学术研究的结果达到正确可靠的前提。学术原则有适应于所有学术研究的总则,也有只适应于各门学科的分则。训诂学的学术原则就是适应于训诂学的分则(有的分则也可适应于其他学科),是训诂实践应该遵循的规程。我国有两千多年的训诂实践,有汗牛充栋的训诂成果,但迄今尚未在理论上建立起系统的学术原则。虽然有些学者提出过一些原则,那也只是散见于其他的论述当中,训诂原则仍然是零散
