陕西人民艺术剧院于建国初期成立,是全国六大人艺之一,也是西北地区富有代表性的话剧院团。在中国的话剧史上,陕西人艺的代表剧目数不胜数,如《桃花扇》《带枪的人》《女人的一生》,又如长安三部曲《白居易在长安》《古城墙》《安家小院》,更有五个一工程剧目《钟声远去》《郭秀明颂》,国家精品工程剧目《又一个黎明》等,剧目先后多次获得文化导演奖、表演奖,三度荣获梅花奖,九次金狮奖等戏剧表演最高奖。涌现
