IEEE 802.15.4标准是IEEE针对低速率无线个人区域网络(Low-rateWireless Personal Area Network,LR-WPAN)制定的标准,旨在为低功耗的通信设备提供一种经济、高效的无线网络。ZigBee协议采用IEEE802.15.4标准的物理层和链路层,并在其上增加了网络层、安全模块和应用支持子层等模块,从而实现了大区域网络覆盖。ZigBee由于其在低功耗、低复杂度、自组织等方面的优势,逐渐成为了无线传感器网络的首选通信协议。
The IEEE 802.15.4 standard is a standard set by the IEEE for the Low-rate Wireless Personal Area Network (LR-WPAN) to provide an economical, efficient wireless network for low-power communication devices. The ZigBee protocol uses the physical layer and link layer of the IEEE802.15.4 standard, and adds network layer, security module and application support sub-layer modules to achieve large-area network coverage. Due to its advantages in low power consumption, low complexity and self-organization, ZigBee has become the preferred communication protocol for wireless sensor networks.
