Japan’s residential city maintenance corporation is conducting research and development toward the introduction of a collective dormitory. As an example, at the Science World Exposition held in Ibaraki prefecture in March, 1985, a model home of a general size will be exhibited. The biggest feature of this kind of house is the universal use of cutting-edge technology, all using solar energy, and ultimately strive to save energy. The biggest difference from previous homes is that the walls of the house are changed from concrete walls to convertible walls, which can divide the room according to changes in the family structure.
