茂名已进入重化工业发展的新阶段,经济的快速发展对煤炭产生了巨大的需求。随着茂名热电厂6#机组、100万t乙烯工程项目的投产,我市动力煤炭的需求量达到350万t/年;而广东粤电集团北山岭深水港区8×100万kW燃煤电厂拟首期建设的2×100万kW机组便需电煤500万t/年。
