The Symposium organized by the Chinese History of Science and Technology History Commission commemorating the centennial of the death of Xu Shou was held in Wuxi on June 16 to May 18, 1984. There are 44 representatives from all over the country attending the conference. They come from universities and colleges, research institutes, factories, publishing houses, Wuxi Association of Science and Technology, and other 30 units. There are also representatives from the United States, Beijing, Shanghai, Dandong And Wuxi and other places of Xu Shoushan also participated in the commemorative meeting. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Yang Gen, an executive director of China Society of History of Science and Technology.
