用生物方法防除危害人类健康的豚草属杂草很有前途。现已发现夜蛾、象甲、叶甲、瘿蝇、长角象甲等昆虫危害豚草叶、茎和花,尤其豚草条纹叶甲防除豚草效果最佳,能形成密集的种群波彻底消灭豚草。防除豚草的病菌有前途的是白锈菌,万寿菊叶斑病菌、豚草木质部抑制细菌、三裂叶豚草锈菌等。以植物压低豚草种群比较有效的是多年生禾本科牧草和紫穗槐等小灌木。生物防治可增长自然界对豚草的抵抗力和免疫力,经济上很合算。
